Before any of our products are despatched for installation, they undergo a rigorous quality control process. We will inspect and operate each product in the factory meaning we know it will work 100% when our customers come to install it.
After fabrication the next optional step depending on what our customers want, is the glazing. The glass panes are cut to the required size and shape and then inserted into the door or window frame. The glass is held in place using gaskets or glazing beads.
During the fabrication phase, our Senior Architectural Systems (SAS) or CORTIZO profiles are cut and routed to the required dimensions using specialised machines, such as saws and CNC routers. We have invested heavily in premium brands of automation to make sure quality and accuracy are never compromised. The frame pieces are then mechanically joined and all additional gaskets and hardware are fitted by specialist fabricators for particular products. It’s important at this stage to ensure everything functions as it should in the long run to save on any costly callbacks.
When we say we pay attention to detail, we mean it! We go through a lot of Soudal Glass Cleaner so that our customer’s glazed products and doors with separate glass arrive in pristine condition.
As fabricators, we’re often only involved in part of a project, especially when it’s a large new build rather than a refurbishment, replacement, or extension. We may get to see the overall architectural specification or building regs plans at the start of a project and indeed, here at Hepworth, we love to contribute at this stage with ideas of what is and what isn’t possible in aluminium. But then often, our doors and windows disappear off into their new homes to be enjoyed for years to come.
